Meat, dairy, farming and food 10.11.09
SARC are pleased to announce that Celtic Link released a statement earlier today stating that they will no longer be going ahead with their plans to transport animals from the Portsmouth Ferry Port.

Our campaign from over the last few weeks, working alongside Compassion in World Farming, was called off today after Celtic Link announced that they would no longer be trying to transport live animal exports through the Portsmouth Port.

SARC would like to thank Celtic Link for making a responsible and ethical decision for the animals.

Although this campaign against Celtic Link is now officially over, SARC will continue to campaign against all animal exploitation, especially in the meat industry. This victory just goes to show that it really is worth standing up for what you believe in, and that we can be the voice of the animals! We had a lot on our side with this campaign, with the help from other groups, the great media coverage, support from people at protests, Mike Hancock local MP working alongside us and the Port themselves being against this cruel practise. Together all our efforts have come together with brilliant results.

Remember, the best thing any of us can to to stop animals getting hurt is to stop eating them. Try ordering some of our information flyers from our resources page and together we can keep fighting animal abuse across the South.
